LUCY WANG

LUCY WANG is an award-winning published and produced multi-genre author.  She rose to national prominence with her Kennedy Center award-winning play Junk Bonds which earned her critical acclaim and a two-page profile in the New York TimesJunk Bonds also won a grant from Berilla Kerr Foundation, and Best New Play with social, political, economic significance from the Katherine and Lee ChilcoteFoundation.  

Lucy’s comedy and writing has been widely recognized ever since.   She was recently named one of the Outstanding Female Artists featured in the Look What She Did! Artists of Los Angeles series. Two Artists Trying to Pay Their Bill won an international comedy prize and is in The Best Ten-MinutPlays 2020. She won a NEA Playwrights Initiative Fellowship in 2019.  My Aim is True and four monologues from Good Mourning, America will be published in the forthcoming She Persisted anthologies by Applause Books.  Excerpts from Teen Mogul aretaught in the classroom as part of StudySync.  A is for American and Be Like Rushing Water, written for Barkada Theater’s Unalienable Project, are live on YouTube. She is profiled  in the Ten Questions column in the May/June issue of The Dramatist.

Lucy serves on the executive committee of Honor Roll!, and is a member of the Dramatists Guild, and the Alliance of Los Angeles Playwrights.  She has an MBA in Finance from Chicago Booth.
