Because we’re expanding so rapidly and offering classes not only here in New York but in cities across the country — in-person and on-line — we’re streamlining the application process to help facilitate the ease in which you join us.


First, you will apply to the Dramatists Guild Institute — the school — with a brief application and a $25 registration deposit. There will be a slight processing time on your application, though we'll aim to process it as quickly as possible.


Once you’re admitted, you can freely choose, register and pay for individual classes, or Plays in Progress (your application fee comes off the total of your first class). Our Master classes will have different registration requirements, depending on the instructor, fee structure, and class size. These will all be clearly spelled out when course registration begins. To see if there are courses currently registering, select the corresponding semester under the COURSES menu within our navigation menu above

The current deadline to register for Spring 2018 was February 28, 2018.
We continue to accept DGI applications throughout the year. If you apply outside of an open registration period, you will be eligible to participate in the Plays in Progress program, or will be pre-screened for registration and application to future semesters.

Please note: once you press "Submit Application," you'll be taken to a payment portal to complete your registration deposit. Your application will be considered incomplete until we have received payment.
